When we book a wedding for a couple, one of the first questions we ask is 'do you want to do an engagement session?' Why, you ask? Here's the deal:

Obviously, wedding days have a tendency to be extremely stressful. One of the more hectic things couples have to deal with is having a photographer they may barely know stick a camera in their face for anywhere from 6-12 hours while they deal with dozens of other aspects of their big day. So having an engagement session with your photographer (whether its us, or anyone else) is crucial to developing the trust necessary to create beautiful images together.

For many couples, their wedding may be the first time that they have ever been photographed professionally, so having an engagement session with you wedding photographer months before is a great way to get comfortable in front of a camera. It also serves as a great way for your photographer to get to know your personality and your likes and dislikes.

When you're comfortable with your photographer and your photographer knows exacty what you're looking for, it makes for a much easier experience for everyone involved.
